On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the historic Oatmeal Festival returns โ and youth volunteers like you make it all happen! From helping with parades to running games and supporting vendors, thereโs a role for everyone.
Volunteering isnโt just about giving back โ itโs also your ticket to scholarships, service hours, and valuable experience for your future.
๐ The Oatmeal Festival Youth Scholarship
If youโre a high school senior who has volunteered with the Oatmeal Festival (starting as early as 9th grade), you could qualify for a $250โ$1,000 scholarship to use toward college, trade school, or higher learning.
๐ก The more hours you volunteer, the stronger your scholarship application will be. Even if youโre just starting senior year, you still have time to get involved and qualify.
โ Scholarship Requirements
- Be a high school senior in the year of application
- Submit the official Scholarship Application (download at OatmealFestival.org/forms)
- Provide proof of acceptance to a higher education program
- Submit your Youth Volunteer Hours Log Sheet with verified signatures
- Apply by late April of your graduation year

Before the Festival:
- Join the Youth Planning Crew
- Help distribute flyers & posters
- Assemble race swag bags
Set-Up & Operations:
- Assist with signs, tents, and vendor areas
- Staff the BBQ Lunch, Kids Zone, or Souvenir Booth
- Support the Oatmeal Bake-Off check-ins
Festival Day:
- Check in parade participants
- Assist floats along the parade route
- Run kidsโ games or serve as a mascot
- Help with car show logistics, merch sales & event support
After the Festival:
- Help with cleanup and tear-down
- Write thank-you notes to sponsors & vendors
