Oatmeal Festival, not just for Labor Day!

The 46th Annual Oatmeal Festival is fast approaching and we are excited to announce the changes for this year.  After a long hard look at how we could improve the festival experience, The Board narrowed it down to one friction point. Weather!  In hopes of cooler weather, we decided to move the Oatmeal Festival in Bertram to the end of the month.

The committee in Oatmeal, TX (separate entity) has decided to still hold The Oatmeal Pageant and BBQ Friday evening, Labor Day weekend at the Oatmeal Community Schoolhouse.  In addition, The Bertram Youth League will host the 1st Annual Oatmeal Festival Youth Softball Tournament in Bertram September 1st – 3rd.  On September 9th, The Oatmeal Festival Softball Tournament (Adult) will also be held in Bertram.

September 30th, keeping with tradition, a trail ride from Oatmeal to Bertram will symbolically move the festival from Oatmeal to Bertram.  For the serious runners and not so serious, join us for The Run For Your Oats 5K.  The Grande Parade will follow, with special guests from Ft Cavazos, The 1st Cavalry Honor Guard and horse detachment.  We will have around 80 vendors, a washer tournament, live music, kids’ area, bake off, pet parade, food and drinks and The Oatmeal Games.  End the evening dancing under the stars at our old-fashioned street dance to the honkytonk sounds of JesseLee Jones and Brazilbilly.  Sunday, October 1st will begin with a church service on the street in downtown Bertram. Vendors will be open Sunday and The Oatmeal Festival Cornhole Tournament will bring this year’s festival to a close.

Different dates, same great small-town festival!  So, Bring Your Sugar to The Oatmeal Festival and we will see you there!
