Celebrating on Friday Night at the Oatmeal Community Center
The 45th Annual Oatmeal Festival weekend kicks off on Friday Night at the Oatmeal Community Center on September 2, 2022. The Oatmeal Community Center is located at the big Oatmeal Canister on FM 243, about five miles southwest of Bertram.
All fundraising proceeds from the barbecue and cake auction goes to upkeep the Old School Building, Oatmeal Community Center and a Scholarship for Miss Oatmeal Queen.
Throughout the evening live music will be provided by Chris Reeve & Ritchie Bustillo.
Friday Night Activities
5:00 PM
Inside the Oatmeal Community Pavilion volunteers serve up a Barbecue Plate Dinner featuring brisket, cold slaw, beans, onions, pickles and bread served under the pavilion. Adult and kids’ plates and brisket sandwiches with a drink and various desserts will be available to purchase

Chris is a world touring lead guitarist and singer from the Hill Country of Texas near Austin. Over 30 years experience in the music business including tours all over the US and Europe, countless recording sessions and 3 solo albums.
Ritchie is known on stage as Richie B, a Singer/Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born on the South-side of San Antonio, Texas. San Antone exposes a plethora of music genres and Richie soaked them up. Doo Wop, Motown and Soul were heavy influences as he grew up and all contributed to his highly energetic style.

The Miss Oatmeal Pageant will determine who will represent the Oatmeal Festival throughout the coming year. There are six different age groups ranging in age from 2 to 18.
- Miss Itsy Bitsy Oatmeal – 2-3 years
- Miss Little Bit of Oatmeal – 4-6 years
- Miss Oatmeal Muffin – 7-9 years
- Miss Oatmeal Cookies – 10-11 years
- Miss Oatmeal Princess – 12 – 13 years
- Miss Oatmeal Queen – 14-18 years

Following the Pageant will be a Live Cake Auction. Cakes made and donated from local volunteers.
