Several of Bertram’s downtown streets will be closed to accommodate runners, skits, parades, music, vendors, games, and other fun and unusual activities. These make up the 41 st annual Oatmeal Festival. All of this, in addition to a growing number of out of town guests that this event attracts, is expected to fill downtown Bertram. Local area residents support this event, because this two-day party has a truly noble purpose: Festival funds raised go to support scholarship opportunities for high school students, and to support other activities that help strengthen our local community. The amount raised has increased since the inception of this annual program. We thank all guests, participants, vendors and sponsors for your support!

Many local businesses actively support the mission of this festival through sponsorship and participation. They consider it a great opportunity to reinvest in their community. Additionally, the air-conditioned Historic Globe Theater has a full day of events planned. Organizers insist that this annual festival would not be possible without full community involvement, vendors, sponsors and committed volunteers, who welcome such support. There are some old-time favorites, new activities, water events, car show, and surprises. Check out our Oatmeal Bowls: At festival, take a set home.

This long-lasting local tradition could not have carried on successfully over 40 years without continued efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers that put it all together. They make up a small not-for-profit that works hard year ’round, just to make this weekend festival the best that it can possibly be. To that end, we are always looking for help. Whether it’s to volunteer, just participate in events, become a vendor, or sponsor, or to donate. Just contact us on web.

Contact the Oatmeal Festival Bowl of Directors to learn how to be a part of each event. This Labor Day Weekend, come join us for a day trip to the Texas Hill Country! Find out what makes this Annual Oatmeal Festival special on Saturday in the city of Bertram.
